A website on spanish horses needs to be far more than just a sales site. From Spain, news and resources to help you in your search for a spanish horse.
When we started the first site a number of years ago, it was to share what we know of our country and our horses. After 20 years in research, live television news and documentaries, it was a natural outlet for my writing, videos and photography.
From there things just grew. There are now close on 300 pages of articles, stories, art, answers and info about andalusian and spanish horses on our sites
We believe in sowing freely, assisting where we can, and presenting simple facts, so that others can reap a harvest of what is needed.
Why two websites about andalusian and spanish horses?
This site, Pure-Spanish-Horse-Spain has grown out of the success - and fun - we had with our original website, andalusians-for-you.com
Built by the two of us - with a fair amount of trial and error! it rose to the top of the rankings on all the search engines. We did no advertising, no link exchanging, no PPCs or web rings. We didn’t even know what those were.
People found us and came to us because of what we have to say.
We write out of our experience, illustrate our stories
with many, many photos of our life with the horses here in Spain, and present real life videos.
About Andres
Andres is of a generations-back family of horse people in Seville.
He oversees Yeguada Peregrino, shows the stallions, raises and cares for our stud mares, and trains our young stock in the manner of natural horsemanship. He is quietly in demand as an evaluator for overseas investors in the purebred spanish horse, and is recognised as one of the leading sports and orthopedic farriers in Andalucia.
He works almost exclusively with PREs, including one of our Olympic horses, and a number from the National Teams. He collaborates on orthopaedic cases with many vets, and his articles have been published overseas.
He is experienced and expert in issues of conformation, movement, and soundness, and in recognising both old and potential future problem areas. His constant involvement with the PRE has given him an exceptional exposure to the ’inside’ world of the spanish horse.
As a horse evaluator he is commissioned to advise on spanish and lusitano horses for sale, that local and overseas buyers are considering. For this he can be flown across country regularly in both Spain and Portugal.

My background is media, and we began our websites as a free resource
to assist outsiders in discovering the depths, beauty - and truths - of the PRE world.
I am constantly enchanted by the beauty that surrounds me, and have literally thousand of fotos in my files. Of these some have been published, some are on posters and calendars, and
many are shared with our readers for the sheer joy of it.
The horses on our site are our own, and those of a Private Group of breeders and trainers. We know every horse and seller,
and before we will feature a horse we assess and examine them personally.
You see the horses as we see them - realistically, yet never losing that touch of a dream.
We will continue to add resources to the website about horses, to do our own photos and filming, and to present you with what we see here among the horses of Spain, Andalucia and Portugal.
