The older line of thought here is still that it simply IS NOT DONE to ride a spanish mare - they are for breeding. Of course, that’s not to say that no-one rides them, but it is the exception rather than the norm.

Andres has always liked working with PRE mares, and he handles them all from birth in exactly the same way as he handles the colts.

Among the mares below you will see Barquillera and Quijotita, Peregrino mares born 2006. Both have been ridden, and now, in the spring of 2010, both are being put to stallions.

Our PRE mares are registered in the Spanish stud Book, Inscribed and Revised with ANCCE.
They are eligible for entry into all associated national organisations, including BAPSH, and to all American registries that are open to PREs and andalusian mares.
