A Bit More on Conformation of the PRE and Training a Spanish Horse

  • Good conformation definitely helps, though it does not guarantee soundness or movement.
  • The conformation required in a PRE Breed class may not always co-incide with what works in dressage.
  • Conformation that shows deviations from that perfect norm does not always lead to problems.
BUT
  • Certain conformation deviations could mean a higher likelihood of potential problems relating to soundness issues
  • Individual factors always come into play: the overall conformation, the degree of the deviation and so on
  • Training you can work on, bloodlines and conformation are as they are.
  • It comes back to looking at each horse as an individual, with his individual future in mind.
