Chestnut pure spanish horses Spain

Chestnut pure spanish horses in Spain.
Accepted in the Spanish Stud Book, chestnut is still one of the less common colours in the spanish horse.
Other such colors in the PRE are buckskin, dun, cremello, isabella and palomino

The stallions and mares below are all inscribed, and are eligible to be revised at the correct age. Each is correctly registered with ANCCE in Spain , and listed in the Spanish Stud Book as a chestnut P.R.E.

  • Revision is sometimes ’short-handed’ as ’apto’. That was the old terminology, now replaced by ’aptitud basica reproductora’
  • The paperwork in Spain is well done. Any doubts, ask us.
  • We are constantly adding to the site as our horses grow and develop. Please bear with us if a page is not yet complete. Contact us and we will forward the information, photos, or videos to you.

TRAJANA

Trajana - half sister to Solea.
Sold direct from the stud in Spain,
looking beautiful in Germany.

Chestnut pure spanish and lusitanos - the chestnut andalusians are linked to many of the increasing number of dilutes, including cremellos. Of course, a creamy coat is not an automatic passport to a good spanish horse or reason to rush into a purchase.

Taking that bit of extra time for research, and buying wisely from the wide range of bloodlines in Spain is an investment with ongoing returns.

YOUNGSTERS from the STUD, already sold

dun andalusian pre

Buckskin Dun PRE

We called him dun, but some of our american readers tell us it should be buckskin.

The desire for the unusual coats has not been present in Spain comparable to what we see in the US. As a result, we have less research and write ups on coat genetics, and it can be that terms we use do not correlate.

Chestnut PRE filly.

When we showed her fotos on behalf of the stud, who were offering her for sale from Spain, the reaction was rapid.

With her free straight extended movement, elegant head and neck and pale chestnut coloring, she caught attention.

Sweet to handle, quick to learn she was also sold by her owner in 2008

When reading a chestnut andalusian for sale advert, be aware of the Spanish Stud Book requirements, and of terms used. Is that "chestnut andalusian" really a PRE, a pure spanish horse?
