Accepted in the Spanish Stud Book, chestnut is still one of the less common colours in the spanish horse.
Other such colors in the PRE are buckskin, dun, cremello, isabella and palomino

Chestnut pure spanish and lusitanos - the chestnut andalusians are linked to many of the increasing number of dilutes, including cremellos. Of course, a creamy coat is not an automatic passport to a good spanish horse or reason to rush into a purchase.
Taking that bit of extra time for research, and buying wisely from the wide range of bloodlines in Spain is an investment with ongoing returns.

When reading a chestnut andalusian for sale advert, be aware of the Spanish Stud Book requirements, and of terms used. Is that "chestnut andalusian" really a PRE, a pure spanish horse?
