The bloodlines of the Yeguada Militar - Spains Military Stud - carry a reputation worldwide, and
write many pages in the rich history of the PRE.
Following the bloodlines of your pure spanish horse can be a fascinating exercise. For any breeder, and for a buyer looking at performance records in the bloodlines of the PRE, there are questions to ask.
If you are looking to put your mare to a YM stallion, you will want to know history, whether the stallion is a Qualified PRE, what foals he has produced.
The name of Leviton, for example, is well known among spanish horse breeders. Leviton is the son of Agente, and both are from the Yeguada Militar, the Military Stud of Spain. Leviton is father of Spains Olympic dressage PRE, Evento.
Dec 2009 We have a daughter of Evento and 2 grand sons of Evento for sale.
Inscribed and Revised
Going back in PRE and Military Stud history, we discover the breeding line that led to the Olympics.
Maluso (1949) is the first name in this line of influential stallions bred by the Yeguada Militar, the Military Stud of Spain. He has been referred to as the ’power behind the throne’.
Agente (1959) is almost certainly the most famous son of Maluso. Immortalised in this ceramic portrait (left), he can be said to be a point of focus for the Military Stud breeding program.
Agente has been described as ’pivotal in the evolution of change in the Spanish horse’
This is understood to relate most particularly to movement. His offspring expressed a notably elastic movement that carried through the line, and laid the foundation of the success of the spanish horse in dressage.
His influence is seen particularly in the inheritance passed on from his sons Leviton(1970) and Jenson.(1968)
Leviton in his own right is considered to be one of the most influential Yeguada Militar stallions in the lineage of the modern day sports PRE.
His lines continue appearing in PREs worldwide who are making a mark with dressage success, and can constantly be noted in significant genealogies.
He stamps his get, and Leviton descendants in their turn have consistently produced stallions and mares who are recognised and valued as foundation stock.
Many of Leviton’s offspring have gone on to achieve international recognition for their performance in dressage. Notable among these is Olympic winner, Evento.
Evento represented Spain at the Atlanta Olympics 1996.
The first PRE to make a mark at such a high level, Evento can also be regarded as a classical example of the genetic strength of these key Yeguada Militar lines.
We have a daughter of Evento and 2 grand sons of Evento for sale.
Evento’s dam is a daughter of Jenson, thus again going back up the line of Agente to Maluso.
Deco (1984)(176) on his sire’s side is a son of Leviton, grandson of Agente, and on his dam’s side is a grandson of Agente.
Distinguido, a son of Evento, was placed consistently in International European Dressage when ridden by Ignacio Ramblas, representing Spain.
For now,a foto of the Yeguada Militar chestnut stallion Zelote, father of the PRE chestnut colt Uri, and of the purebred spanish chestnut filly Solea.
