Andrés and Josephine Cánovas Rodriguez

Andres Canovas is of a generations-back family of horse people in Seville. Josephine has a media background. Together they are building Yeguada Peregrino, a ranch with a vision, in Spain.

About Andres

Andres oversees Yeguada Peregrino, handles the stallions, raises and cares for the stud mares, and trains our young stock in the manner of natural horsemanship. He is quietly in demand as an evaluator for overseas investors in the purebred spanish horse, and is recognised as one of the leading sports and orthopedic farriers in Andalucia.

He works almost exclusively with PREs, including one of our Olympic horses, and a number from the National Teams. He collaborates on orthopaedic cases with many vets, and his articles have been published overseas.

He is experienced and expert in issues of conformation, movement, and soundness, and in recognising both old and potential future problem areas. His constant involvement with the PRE has given him an exceptional exposure to the ’inside’ world of the spanish horse.

As a horse evaluator he is commissioned to advise on spanish and lusitano horses for sale, that local and overseas buyers are considering. For this he can be flown across country regularly in both Spain and Portugal.

About Josephine

My background is media, and we began our websites as a free resource to assist others in discovering the depths, beauty and truths of the PRE world in Spain.

I am constantly enchanted by the beauty that surrounds me, and have literally thousands of fotos in my files. Of these some have been published, some are on posters and calendars, and many are shared with our readers for the sheer joy of it.

My yesterdays hold 8 books published; live TV around a fair portion of the world with the News Department; interviews with some very interesting people; articles in various print and online magazines; and countless TV and documentary scripts that saw their brief moment, and now rest in the dusty vaults of long-forgotten history.

I live for today.

The Venture into Websites

Every word, article and and image in the plus 500 webpages of our websites is original. I write the copy, take the fotos, film and edit the videos. Then I code it (mostly by hand) into css and html, design each page and build it.

It could have been considered late in life for a visual media person to begin afresh with computer tech. Well, we have no problem with an over 50 starting a website
